Typically, it is taken whole about one hour before a meal, at the same time each day.The medicine may take a few weeks to show full effect, so continue taking it even if your symptoms improve early. For long-term use, your doctor may monitor magnesium levels, as they can decrease over time. Common side effects include headache, constipation or diarrhea, stomach pain, and nausea, which are usually mild. However, consult your doctor if they persist.
