Bactrocin contains Mupirocin, which is a unique topical antibiotic derived from Pseudomonas fluorescens, primarily used to treat skin infections such as impetigo and secondary bacterial infections like folliculitis. It exerts its bacteriostatic effect at low concentrations and bactericidal effect at high concentrations by reversibly binding to bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis.
