Trihexyphenidyl Hydrochloride is an antimuscarinic agent primarily used as an adjunct in the management of all forms of Parkinsonism and to control extrapyramidal disorders caused by central nervous system drugs, such as antipsychotics. It works by competitively inhibiting the binding of acetylcholine to muscarinic receptors in the parasympathetic nervous system and central nervous system, thereby helping to restore the balance between dopamine and acetylcholine in the basal ganglia. This action is particularly effective at reducing muscular rigidity and tremors while improving muscle control and walking ability.
