Indications
Unix-C lotion is used for:
Scabies
Pruritus (itching)
It also helps relieve itching and skin irritation caused by:
Sunburn
Dry eczema
Itchy dermatitis
Allergic rash
Hives / nettle rash
Chickenpox
Insect bites and stings
Heat rash
Personal itching
Pharmacology
This lotion contains:
Permethrin
A synthetic pyrethroid with antiparasitic activity. It acts on the nervous system of mites/insects, causing paralysis and death.
Crotamiton
Works as:
An anti-scabies agent
An anti-itch medicine
Only a very small amount of permethrin is absorbed through the skin.
How to Apply
For adults & children over 2 years
Clean and dry the skin.
Apply lotion to the whole body from neck down.
Rub gently until absorbed.
Apply especially:
Between fingers & toes
Under nails
Wrists
Armpits
Genital area
Leave on for at least 8 hours, then wash off.
For babies under 2 years
Apply also to:
Face
Neck
Ears
Scalp
(Avoid eyes and mouth area)
Important
Reapply if any area gets washed during treatment.
Family members should also be treated because scabies spreads easily.
Change clothes, towels, and bed sheets after treatment.
Contraindications
Do not use if allergic to:
Permethrin
Pyrethroids
Pyrethrins
Any ingredient of the lotion
Side Effects
Possible temporary effects:
Burning
Tingling
Stinging
Redness
Rash
Mild irritation
Precautions
Avoid contact with eyes.
If it enters the eyes, rinse immediately with water.
Avoid applying on broken skin unless advised by a doctor.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not generally recommended during pregnancy, especially first trimester.
Breastfeeding mothers should avoid applying near nipples.
Storage
Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
