Dosage & Administration
The usual starting dose for adults is 5 mg of Mirogabalin taken orally twice daily. The dose is then gradually increased by 5 mg at intervals of at least one week, up to 15 mg twice daily. Depending on the patient’s age and condition, the dose may be adjusted between 10 mg and 15 mg, taken twice daily.
Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Interaction
Mirogabalin does not affect cytochrome P450 enzymes. However, taking it with cimetidine or probenecid may increase its levels in the blood. When combined with alcohol or lorazepam, it may enhance central nervous system (CNS) depressant effects such as drowsiness and sedation.
Contraindications
Mirogabalin should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to it. It is also contraindicated in patients with mild to moderate liver or kidney impairment.
Side Effects
Common side effects include sleepiness, dizziness, swelling (edema), and weight gain. Rare but serious symptoms may include lightheadedness, near loss of consciousness, or actual loss of consciousness. Other possible effects include general weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and jaundice indicating liver problems. If any serious symptoms occur, stop the medicine and consult your doctor immediately.
Precautions & Warnings
This medicine may cause dizziness, sleepiness, or loss of consciousness, so avoid driving or operating heavy machinery. Extra caution is advised in elderly patients. It may also cause weight gain, blurred vision, or double vision.
Storage Conditions
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
